Budapest, 8 May 2024 – Hungarian voters who do not have a residence address in Hungary or in any other Member State of the European Union can submit their applications for registration until 4 p.m. on 15 May 2024. Registered voters will be able to vote by post in the elections on 9 June 2024, but only on the party lists of the European Parliament.
Next week, the National Election Office will mail the ballot packet to the addresses of registered voters, and those who have requested to receive it in person can pick it up in the two weeks before the vote until 7 pm on the day of the vote, at the seat of the parliamentary single member constituency, at a designated Hungarian mission abroad or at a designated settlement near the border.
For more information on the locations where you can pick up your packets, click here.
A postal vote may be sent by post free of charge addressed to the National Election Office, in which case the vote must be received by the National Election Office no later than 7 p.m. on 9 June, the day of the vote. Votes can also be sent by post – for a fee - to Hungary's diplomatic missions and consular posts abroad, but it is also possible to deliver them in person. Postal votes can be delivered in Hungary, at any parliamentary single member constituency election office or at any foreign representation.
More information on the postal vote is available here.
