Members of the European Parliament and national minority representatives elected on 9 June received their credentials

The President of the National Election Commission, Dr. Róbert Sasvári and the President of the National Election Office, Dr. Attila Nagy handed over the credentials of the representatives who won seats in the European Parliament and the national minority elections at a ceremony.

Budapest, June 28, 2024 - This week, the handover ceremonies of the 21 elected Hungarian Members of the European Parliament and the 299 Members of the national minority lists of the 13 Hungarian nationalities took place.

Pursuant to paragraph (1) of Article 206 of Act XXXVI of 2013 on Electoral Procedure, the election commission determining the result of the election shall deliver the credentials to the elected representative, upon the election result becoming final or - if it falls on a later date - within five working days of the final conclusion of any legal remedy which may lead to a rerun of the vote.

In accordance with the law, the President of the National Election Commission, Dr. Róbert Sasvári and the President of the National Election Office, Dr. Attila Nagy handed over the credentials of the representatives of the European Parliament and national minority self-government elected in the 9 June elections in a ceremony this week.

In his speech, Dr. Róbert Sasvári welcomed the audience and wished the elected representatives success in their future work. On behalf of Imre Ritter, German national minority MP, President of the Commission of Hungarian Nationalities, Gergely Gallai, Chief of Cabinet of the National Self-Government of the Hungarian Germans, also welcomed the newly elected members.

Members who were unable to collect their credentials at this week's handover ceremonies will be able to collect them from the President of the National Election Commission at a later date.
