Election observation by NVI colleagues

Municipal elections were held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 6 October 2024, and the National Election Office was involved in observing the elections. The purpose of election observation is to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.

Budapest, 07 October 2024 - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH CEC) and the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) have organised a joint election observation and knowledge sharing programme for the observation of the municipal elections to be held on 6 October 2024 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the four-day election observation programme in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, colleagues from the National Election Office were able to familiarise themselves with the country's electoral system and observe the voting and counting process on election day. After the elections on Sunday, the colleagues also had the opportunity to share their Election Day experiences with the participants in a briefing organised by A-WEB.

The BiH CEC and the A-WEB jointly organised an election observation programme to ensure free and transparent elections and the exchange of knowledge and experience between participants.
